If you’re anything like me, then you’re just a little obsessed with Netflix. Okay, who am I kidding–I am completely and utterly obsessed with Netflix and I am proud of my life choices. Their original shows are prime examples of good storytelling (or at least the ones I’ve watched). So I thought, why not make some book recommendations based on netflix original shows? And so this blog post was born.

Discussion: Is Hype Always a Bad Thing?


In my last post, I talked about wanting to get back in the habit of posting discussions once a month. It’s Sunday, and that means I’m ready with a new discussion post to start my blogging year off right!

This topic is one I think everyone has a strong opinion on: book hype. Generally, the conversation about hype is always a negative one. I mean, who hasn’t felt that disappointment after reading a book you were SO excited for, but it only turned out to be okay? I know I’ve felt that way a dozen times before. Hidden Gems Releasing in 2017


Happy new year, everyone! It’s that lovely time of the year where everyone posts their anticipated upcoming releases. I absolutely love to see what other people put on their lists, because it helps me figure out what to look out for over the course of the year!

I’ve realized that a lot of the lists cover the same books, whether they be the super hyped books or ones from bestselling authors. And there’s nothing wrong with that! Setting the Stage for 2017 | Looking Back + What’s Ahead


The first week of January is nearly over, and I’m already late with posting my 2016 wrap up and 2017 goals *nervous laughter* Hopefully it’s not indicative of what the rest of the year will be like?

Fiery Reads has changed a lot over the past year + handful of months I’ve been blogging. I had my 1st year blogiversary in late September, I hit some big milestone goals, and I read a shit ton of books. The changes won’t be stopping anytime soon; the second part of this post will focus on what’s in store for the blog in 2017, and what changes you can expect around here.
