Welcome back to day 6 of Fictional Fever Week at Fiery Reads! Yesterday, Ari shared her favorite love triangles, and man, were there some painful choices in that post. Today, Lillie is sharing ~romantic~ book playlist, and I have to tell you, they are fireeee.

Lillie is a 17 year old fictional character enthusiast and lover of all things bookish. When she’s not reading, you can catch her on the stage dishing out triple pirouettes and triple toe stands in her tap shoes. She is a senior in high school at a performing arts school and hopes to one day rid the world of disease – or at least, to serve up those children some lollipops when they come for their yearly check up. You can find her on these social media sites:

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I’m sure we’ve all begun to stock up on chocolate hearts and those romance books to indulge in while lounging on the couch. Well, while you’re indulging in those delicious sweets, I think it’s only fitting that those proper V-Day tunes are playing along in the background. And so, today I have for you a little playlist with just that. I’ve gone through some of my favorite books with romances that make me swoon and I’ll be setting love songs to those novels. Let’s get cracking, shall we?

1. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

1) Love In The Dark by Adele
The moment I heard Love In The Dark, I thought “wow, this is literally Etta and Nicholas – how will I ever recover from this book?”
2) Shallows by Daughter
This song made me think about the aspects of the journey they were enduring. They were giving so much of themselves to this adventure and yet still holding on for each other.
3) Pieces by Andrew Belle
Pieces has that soft quality, yet those jarring lyrics that reminds me much of the relationship between the two main characters. Though it was clear they loved each other, it was difficult to be with one another due to the circumstances at hand, yet the love endured!

2. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

1) Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine
If you really read the lyrics to Cosmic Love and think of how the plot relates lightly back to Beauty and the Beast, I felt that this song fit perfectly.
2) Surround You by Echosmith
(shoutout to echosmith for being my favorite band I had to put you in this)
Surround You is very soft and provides a bit of a contrast to the lust/desire that Feyre and Tamlin were exuding. However, it still captures the essence of their love (thorns and all).

3) Stockholm Syndrome by One Direction
Before you look at this and go “one direction, oh no ew,” you have to give Stockholm Syndrome a chance – at least to compare the lyrics to the book! Stockholm syndrome is basically falling in love with your captor and since you know Tamlin brings Feyre to this new life and she does fall in love with him, it’s a perfect song.

3) City of Bones (TMI) by Cassandra Clare

1) Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran
’nuff said.2) I Will Follow You Into The Dark by Death Cab for Cutie
Whenever I heard this, I just think of how Clary and Jace would literally do anything for each other – including following each other in the dark. Their love knows no bounds!

3) When The Darkness Comes by Colbie Caillat
I always thought this was a beautiful song from the movie, despite the movie being questionable. My favorite line from this song is: “When you’re feeling lost I’ll leave my love hidden in the sun, for when the darkness comes.” I feel like this is such a Clace thing to do *enters 50 exclamation points*.

Thanks so much for having me over on your blog, Alex! I love Fiery Reads very much and am honored to be featured here. (edit from Alex: the feeling is mutual homeskillet <3)

Nice to meet you Lillie! I think it’s incredibly awesome that you have so much passion for books& song that you can imagine what song fits the mood/atmosphere of each story. I’m a looooong time reader and the thought to do that had never even crossed my mind! I’m very impressed & inspired by your creativity & insight on combining two things you love; music and reading.
